Anglicans at five local churches have a new spiritual leader.
On August 1, The Reverend Felix Longdon began his service as the incumbent of the Parish of the Lower Ottawa Valley, which includes St. John the Apostle Vankleek Hill, Holy Trinity Hawkesbury, St. Matthew’s Grenville, Holy Trinity Calumet, and St. Michael and All Angels Maxville.
The Rev. Longdon was ordained in 2006 in his home country of Ghana, which is in West Africa. He has previously served parishes in Massachusetts, Ottawa, and Navan. The Rev. Longdon, his wife Jane, and two daughters are making their new home at the rectory beside Holy Trinity church in Hawkesbury.
“I am a seasoned ministry leader with teaching, pastoral, and counselling experience. I am passionate about helping people unearth and use their God-given potentials to love, serve God, and humankind,” he said in his appointment letter, sent to the parish by The Right Reverend Shane A.D. Parker, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa.
