Traffic stop leads to drug bust in Thurso

Sûreté du Québec officers from the Papineau MRC station conducted a traffic stop on August 10 in Thurso. At the scene, the officers arrested two individuals for drug trafficking.

A woman in her 50’s and another in her 40’s was arrested by the police. They were released pending further proceedings and are expected to appear in court at a later date.

The officers seized:

• More than 60 methamphetamine pills

• Approximately 40 grams of a cocaine-like substance

• Approximately 50 prescription pills

• Drug trafficking equipment
