The region finally received some badly needed rain during the early evening of Wednesday, August 13, but during that rain, a large maple tree fell on rue Principale in Grenville, blocking the road and landing on power lines.
Hydro-Québec, Grenville firefighters, and the department of public works spent the evening removing the fallen tree and restoring electricity to the affected nearby homes.
Rue Principale in Grenville was closed between rue de la Montagne and 1er avenue while the wood and other debris was removed.
