True North Vacation Bible School (VBS) took place at Knox Presbyterian Church in Vankleek Hill during the week of July 21 to 25.

There were 70 children participating with the assistance of 35 leaders and helpers, playing games, creating crafts, singing Bible songs, enjoying snacks, hearing Bible stories, and discovering about trusting Jesus in this wild world.

A mission emphasis in the Knox VBS program encourages the children to bring an offering each day that goes directly to support the mission project. This year, the VBS chose to support The Children’s Pavilion (Pabellon de Los Ninos) in Guatemala, built under the supervision of Dave Godmere in 2015. This centre is used to provide physiotherapy and occupational therapy for physically challenged children and young people living in Guatemala. With the help of many generous hearts in the community and church family, $4,700 was raised. This money will go towards purchasing items necessary to meet the basic needs for physical and occupational rehabilitation, from neuromuscular bandages to leg sleeves for pressure therapy.

The VBS week ended with a spectacular show for parents and family followed by a picnic lunch on the church lawn.
