The Dunany Studio Artists’ summer art show returns for another season of creative wonder featuring versatile works of art on Thursday, August 21 and Friday, August 22, from 5 pm to 8 pm, at the Dunany Golf and Country Club, 2053 chemin de Dunany in Wentworth, 14 kilometres north of Lachute.
This year, the Dunany artists take flight with a new theme:
Celebrating the Magical, Beneficial Dragonfly. The dragonfly, nature’s glimmering symbol of transformation, vitality, and harmony is a crucial environmental component. Known for their long existence (over 300 million years), dragonflies play critical roles as predators for the consumption of hundreds of thousands of insects and are prey for birds, bats, frogs, fish and other creatures such as bears. Their most important ecological role is to help monitor pollution, climate change and other potential threats to land and water ecosystems.
The Dunany Studio Artists invite everyone to join them for two vibrant days filled with original art that dazzles the senses and stirs the soul, with many pieces dedicated to and inspired by the elegant spirit of the dragonfly, one of nature’s most captivating, remarkable creatures. This year’s show invites artists and attendees to reflect on the dragonfly’s symbolism, beauty, transformative power and environmental significance and to foster a deeper appreciation for its beneficial role in nature.
Hosted in the heart of the Laurentians at the historic Dunany Golf and Country Club, the Dunany Studio Artists exhibition will showcase local talents across a rich array of mediums, including watercolours, pastels, oils, acrylics, artistic mosaics, sculptures and mixed media at this dynamic exhibition. For art lovers everywhere, this annual vernissage is a highlight on the summer calendar. Whether an art aficionado or a curious passerby, attendees will find stunning works of original art plus many pieces that honor the dragonfly’s magical role in our ecosystems and imaginations. Come for the art, stay for the atmosphere. Let the dragonfly lead you into a world of creativity and renewal!
