Three car thefts in two days at a local water park have police urging people to take extra precautions.

On Sunday, July 27 and Monday, July 28, 2025, Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers investigated the theft of three vehicles at the water park.

The OPP is asking the public to take extra precautions when leaving a vehicle unattended in a parking lot.

Police Recommend the Following Tips:

• Always lock your vehicle, even if you’re stepping away for a short time.

• Consider installing a steering wheel lock, car alarm, or GPS tracker.

• Consider a brake or clutch pedal lock which prevents the thief from disengaging the parking brake or using the clutch.

• Use immobilizers or kill switches to make your vehicle harder to start without the key.

• Be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious activity to police.

If you or anyone you know have any further information regarding these car thefts, contact the Russell County OPP at 613-443-4499 or OPP Communication Centre at 1-888-310-1122.
