Emergency responders rescued an injured cyclist in the Larose Forest on Thursday, July 24.
At around 3pm on Thursday, United Counties of Prescott and Russell paramedics requested the assistance of the Clarence-Rockland Fire Department in a remote area of the Larose Forest in Bourget. A female cyclist had fallen into a small ravine while mountain biking and was located quite a distance into the forest trail system.
The Nation Fire Department assisted the Clarence-Rockland department with its UTV to reach the injured cyclist. The communication division of Ottawa Fire Services also assisted with locating the patient.
With high heat and humidity, it was a demanding task for all of those involved. The patient was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
