A Vankleek Hill area farm, better known as a source of fine honey, now has some beautiful stone walls along the edges of its fields and hedgerows.
On Saturday, July 19 and Sunday, July 20, a stone wall building workshop was held at Gibbs Honey. Dry stone wall builder Scott Young led the workshop, while other volunteers assisted and learned the technique of dry-stone masonry and construction.
Dry stone walls were a common way of demarcating farm fields and property boundaries during the days of colonial settlement.
