The city of Lachute celebrated Québec’s Fête Nationale on Monday, June 23. The event drew residents to the Lachute fairgrounds for live music and family activities to celebrate Québec.
Live musical performances by DJ Gabo, the duo Florence Brousseau and Camille Lafortune, and La Voix 2024 winner Maude Cyr-Deschênes entertained the crowd throughout the evening.
Proceeds from food and beverage sales supported l’Association de baseball mineur d’Argenteuil.
Mayor Bernard Bigras-Denis was joined by Councillors Aline Gravel, Christian David, Gaétan Larose, Guylaine Cyr-Desforges, and Hugo Lajoie, all of whom addressed attendees about Lachute’s growth, diversity, and strong community values.
In his remarks, Bigras-Denis said, “We are gathered here today to celebrate what unites us: our Québec pride, our common history, and our living culture. When we look at our flag, we remember that we are the heirs of a proud people, tightly woven together by centuries of struggles and dreams.”
“We here in Lachute, as everywhere in French-speaking Québec, know we are moving forward, innovating, creating, and standing tall,” he concluded.
