On Wednesday, June 11, Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute (VCI) students and staff hosted a Murder Mystery Dinner event for 112 guests in the cafetorium. The Drama Club, under the direction of teacher Sarah Dagg, put on Murder at Regent Manor by Michael Druce. The play featured 13 cast members and ran 80 minutes with a 15-minute intermission. The school recently purchased new spotlights and sound equipment with funds from their Desjardins Foundation grant and the UCDSB Specialist High Skills Major program. Their backstage crew of six members worked quickly to learn how to use the new technology to give the production some special effects. The club also had help from several art students to finish the set and apply hair and makeup for the actors.

The Foods Technology class led by teacher Mr. Edwards, put on a traditional British meal to go with the setting of the play and the Construction tech class, led by teacher Mr. Williams helped to build the set. Most of the VCI staff had a hand in helping with the production from playing music, taking promotional photos, donating costumes and props, and helping with serving, set up and take down.
