The Seaway Valley Theatre Company (SVTC) invites everyone to attend the final play of their 2024/2025 season, “Knickers! A ‘Brief’ Comedy” by British/Canadian playwright, Sarah Quick.

“Knickers!” is a hilariously irreverent comedy that celebrates determination, hope, friendship, entrepreneurial spirit, and the willingness to bare it all! When the paper mill in a fictitious, rural Ontario town shuts down, a trio of brassy, Wednesday-night weightwatchers and a new friend in town become an unlikely, determined foursome that rallies the community to save both jobs and spirits. Could the friends’ business plan of creating a custom underwear business (complete with a pair of giant knickers as a roadside attraction) really be the town’s salvation?

The cast features a wide array of proudly local talent: Shelley Cameron as Barb, Véronique Lacroix as Amanda, Kiana Seitz as Mary, and Christiane Taylor as Terri. Producing the show are SVTC marketing committee members Josée Julien and Shirley Robertson. And making her directorial debut for the SVTC is Ruth Pentinga.

“Knickers! A ‘Brief’ Comedy” will be staged at the Seaway Valley Theatre, 30 Sixth Street East, Cornwall, on select dates and times from June 6 to 22. Reserved seats start at $30.00 and can be bought in advance online at svtc.theticketwicket.ca or by phone at 613-933-3998. They will also be available at the door from one hour before curtain time, but it is strongly recommended that you buy tickets in advance and get them early to avoid disappointment. A dinner theatre performance will also be given on June 21 with reserved seats at $55.00 each. Please visit www.svtc.ca/knickers for details about meal options.
