Police have made a significant seizure of contraband cannabis in Gore.

On Friday, May 23, MRC d’Argenteuil Sûreté du Québec officers in collaboration with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), conducted a search of a residence on chemin Cambria in Gore.

During the search, police officers seized:

• More than 10 kilograms of cannabis;

• More than 200 cannabis plants

• More than 55 grams of cannabis seeds;

The investigation is ongoing.

The operation stems from an investigation initiated following information received from the public. Coordinated by the Québec ministry of public security, the ACCES Cannabis program was launched in 2018 to combat cannabis smuggling throughout Québec. Its objective is to promote the integrity of Québec’s tax system, reduce the accessibility of cannabis for youth, and direct consumers to a legal and safe market.
