It was raining on Sunday, May 18, but that did not stop the annual May Show Festival from going ahead in Vankleek Hill. Artists, artisans, and food vendors were set up on Main Street in the business area. The message of environmental awareness was back again with the annual Charlie’s Tree Parade presented by 11-year-old Charlie Kazak of Vankleek Hill. Following the short procession along Main Street, 130 free trees were given away for anyone to plant.
On stage, there was a great variety of high-energy musical entertainment all day.
The May Show Festival began in 1984 as an annual event to promote art and artists in Vankleek Hill. It is a production of Excellent Events.
“Thank you so much for being here!” Samme Putzel of Excellent Events told the crowd.
“It’s been a wonderful day!” she remarked.
Putzel also thanked the community of Vankleek Hill for its support.
