It’s motorcycle season again and bikers from across the region and further away gathered in Hawkesbury on Saturday, May 10 for the Blessing of the Motorcycles outside Saint-Pierre-Apôtre church in downtown Hawkesbury.

This was the first time a Blessing of the Motorcycles was held in Hawkesbury. About 65 motorcyclists and their machines were in the church parking lot. Father Éric Robichaud delivered a reading from the Gospel according to St. John and delivered a short message before blessing every motorcycle with holy water between prayers.

The Blessing of the Motorcycles was organized by Hawkesbury Bike Night, which holds motorcycle gatherings in the downtown area a few times each summer. Jacques Leveille of Hawkesbury Bike Night and Marc Bisaillon worked with the church to organize the event. The Bike Night in Hawkesbury is on June 13 from 5 pm to 9 pm.

War Amps CHAMP Program participant Flavien Lavigne of Sainte-Anne-de Prescott and his brother Isakiel were selling hotdogs at a stand at the Blessing of the Motorcycles in return for donations to the War Amps.
