Since 1994, Arbor Gallery in Vankleek Hill has been a cornerstone of arts and culture in Eastern Ontario. As a registered charity, the gallery provides vital support to local artists by offering exhibition space, sales opportunities, and community engagement through workshops, performances, and educational partnerships with local schools and organizations.
Like many rural arts organizations, Arbor Gallery has faced financial challenges over the years. However, its participation in the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association (OCGA) program—delivered in collaboration with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) and Delta Bingo & Gaming—has provided essential support. By supplying volunteers for local gaming sessions, the gallery receives much-needed funding distributed through the OCGA, enabling it to stabilize and grow its cultural programming.
On Saturday, May 3, a group of Arbor Gallery volunteers and friends gathered at the Delta Bingo centre in Hawkesbury—not as helpers, but as players. “We wanted to show our appreciation for Delta Bingo once again,” said Sylvie Bouchard, Secretary-Treasurer of the Board and bingo volunteer coordinator for Arbor Gallery. “Their support plays a crucial role in helping us cover essential expenses like rent and staff.”
While some participants had joined a similar outing in December 2024, it was a first-time bingo experience for many—and the afternoon was filled with fun and laughter. “Events like this strengthen the camaraderie we already share, and we’re thrilled that our enjoyment also contributes to supporting the gallery,” Bouchard added.
Arbor Gallery, now located at 103 High Street, continues to thrive thanks to the generosity of its community and the vital support of partners like the OCGA and Delta Bingo. Together, they help make the arts accessible to the Champlain and Prescott-Russell region.
