At the Tuesday, April 22 meeting, Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry (SDG) Counties council announced funding allocations through its Regional Incentives Program. More than $250,000 will be awarded to regional businesses and organizations.
The Regional Incentives Program fosters collaborative growth in SDG Counties by supporting joint efforts that stimulate economic development.
In total, 15 project proposals were received during the February 2025 intake, with staff recommending that 13 be approved for funding. The Approvals Committee reviewed all submissions, including two applicants from North Glengarry and three applicants from South Glengarry, with the remaining applications coming from the other municipalities.
North Glengarry recipients were Servitek Foussier, which will receive $25,000 of the $50,000 requested, and Vaella Holdings, which will receive $40,000 of the requested $50,000.
Servitek Foussier will use the funds to rehabilitate a vacant 7,154-square-foot facility for commercial use, specifically as a warehouse, product development space, offices, and a showroom. Vaella Holdings will use its funds to rehabilitate the previous Glengarry News building to include space for an audiologist on the main level with a residential unit above.
South Glengarry recipients included Fraser Creek Pizza Farm, The Butterfly Barn, and YouTopia Massage.

Fraser Creek Pizza Farm will use its full award of $8,518.71 to upgrade the landscaping and façade of its pizza barn and short-term rental unit. The Butterfly Barn will receive $40,000 of its requested $50,000 to construct an 80 by 100-foot steel building as a wedding venue.

Additionally, YouTopia Massage received $20,000 out of the requested $27,000. The funds will be used to develop an outdoor Scandinavian-style bath treatment centre and renovate its existing building to accommodate treatment and dressing rooms.
Council unanimously approved the $257,362.48 initiative with no further questions or discussion.
