Stéphane Lauzon is returning to the House of Commons.

The incumbent Liberal was re-elected in Argenteuil-La Petite Nation in the Monday, April 28 federal election.

Lauzon was first elected in 2015. He was re-elected in 2019 and 2021 and served under former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Most recently, Lauzon was chair of the Québec Liberal caucus in the House of Commons. As of 1:46 am on Tuesday, April 29, Lauzon had won with 27,731 votes with 282 of 284 polls reporting.

In recent elections, the Bloc Québecois has finished second in Argenteuil-La Petite Nation, but that changed on Monday. Conservative candidate Martin Charron finished second with 14,527 votes. The Bloc Québecois, which had hoped for a breakthrough with star candidate Martin Héroux, a comedian and television actor, but Héroux placed third with 13,416 votes.

New Democratic Party (NDP) candidate Michel Welt finished fourth with 1,471 votes, followed by Bertha Fuchsman-Small of the Green Party with 789 votes. In sixth place, People’s Party of Canada (PPC) candidate Lindsey Therrien received 587 votes.
