Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) candidate Eric Duncan has been elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the riding of Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry. Duncan was elected by a margin of more than 12,000 votes.
This is the first federal election in which the riding included redrawn boundaries to incorporate North Glengarry, formerly part of Glengarry-Prescott-Russell.
As of early Tuesday morning, April 29, 276 of 278 polling stations had reported. Duncan received 37,023 votes, or 56.5 per cent of the vote share.
Liberal candidate Sarah Good received 25,954 votes (39.6 per cent ), while New Democratic Party (NDP) candidate Mario Leclerc received 1,624 votes (2.5 per cent). Green Party candidate Gordon Kubanek had 781 votes (1 per cent), followed by Libertarian candidate Karl Ivan MacKinnon with 266 votes (0.4 per cent).
