An investigation has led to a drug seizure and an arrest in Alfred.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit began an investigation earlier this year after reports that an individual was selling methamphetamine and cocaine.
On Thursday, April 10, 2025, Street Crime Unit members and officers from the Hawkesbury Detachment executed a search warrant at an apartment on St-Phillipe Street in Alfred.
Officers seized a quantity of suspected crack cocaine, several crack pipes, cash, debt lists, and other items typically associated with drug trafficking. One person was arrested at the scene, while several other people were released without charges.
Sylvie Campeau, age 56 of Alfred, has been charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on May 28, 2025.
