At the Monday, March 17 meeting, Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry (SDG) Counties council awarded a contract to Cornwall Gravel Company Limited for hot mix paving and other related work on county roads in 2025.
The contract is valued at $7,556,930 plus HST, with SDG Counties contributing $6,771,040 and South Glengarry covering the remaining $785,890. The work includes hot mix paving at various thicknesses, cold milling, catch basin adjustments, as well as concrete curb and shouldering work throughout the counties.
Council was also informed that this project, combined with the cold-in-place contract, would keep SDG under its resurfacing budget, leaving a surplus of approximately $140,176. Staff noted that the total cost of resurfacing projects for 2025 is expected to cost the counties $12,482,003.
