A new public library board has been appointed in The Nation Municipality.

On Monday, January 24, council adopted a bylaw appointing the new, seven-member board which will oversee the operations of the three library branches, which are located in St-Isidore, Limoges, and St-Albert.

The new library board members are Christina Gratto, Nicole Fontaine, Carl Surprenant, Stéphanie Levere, Renée Belhumeur, Councillor Raymond Lalande, and Councillor Danik Forgues.

The appointment of the new board follows the resignation of the previous board chair and members in December 2024, along with the retirement of the former library Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Following the resignations and retirement, council decided to close the library branches from January 1 to March 31, 2025 while a new board was established under the protocols of the Public Libraries Act. The new board will be responsible for hiring a new CEO.
