Four Glengarry residents and auto racers won DIRT championships in 2024. Here are the highlights of each of their achievements.
#01 Chris Raabe
The Alexandria resident clinched the 2024 Mohawk International Raceway in Akwesasne New York 358-Modified track Championship as well as the American Racer North Series title. This is the fifth championship at that speedway in 15 years for the 01 Racing Team. Raabe has a total of 201 career wins on DIRT tracks. As for the upcoming racing season, which will begin in May, the multiple champion will be extremely busy: he has been hired to drive the 4K racing car owned by Jasmin Léveillé in both 358-Modified and Big Block classes.
#51 Lee Ladouceur
Glengarian Lee Ladouceur, who started his racing journey at 17 years old on road course go-karts, has now an impressive record of 82 career wins in Mini-Stock, Pro-Stock, 358-Modified and Sprint car classes. Last season he sealed a second in-a-row Brockville Ontario Speedway Crate Sprint Championship which is also a fifth Sprint Car title for this talented racer. “I like racing anything with a motor,” commented Lee. “I do enjoy driving the Modified but probably prefer the Sprint Car a little bit especially when powered by a 360 motor!”
#77 Liam Ladouceur
Cornwall Motor Speedway also hosts karting racing action on Tuesday nights on the short track known as Cornwall Dirt Raceway Park where young talents can be developed. Liam Ladouceur, 16, who is Lee’s youngest son, is one of these talented young drivers with a talented future. Liam brought home both Junior 3 Kart and Dirt Demon 2024 championships. “To me, my championships show that perseverance and hard work pay off. They also motivate me to continue to work hard in the years to come” said the third-generation racer. Liam is happy to announce that in 2025 he will race at Brockville Ontario Speedway in the Crate Sprint division side-by-side with his father.
#92 Tristan Ladouceur
Tristan Ladouceur, 18, is walking in father Joey Ladouceur and grandfather Laurent Ladouceur’s footsteps: at his third Sportsman season the third generation DIRT racer clinched the 2024 Mohawk International Raceway Sportsman championship. “We started the 2024 racing season saying to ourselves that we would be very fortunate to win a single feature race this year. But with two wins and constancy at Mohawk International Speedway this allowed the 92t Team to be competitive all summer long which provided us the Track Championship” recalled Tristan.
