This year’s Dalkeith Winter Carnival hosted activities spread over the weekend of January 25 and 26. Cards, a Disney-themed parade, 4-on-4 hockey, and live music were some of the attractions that drew individuals to the Dalkeith Community Centre.

From Saturday morning until the early afternoon, attendees could participate in the Euchre tournament and test their skills against fellow residents and visitors. The parade began around 2 p.m. along Laggan Glenelg Road and showcased some of the creative work of Dalkeith’s finest.

The parade was followed by a live performance of the MacLeod Fiddlers, then the 4-on-4 hockey tournament. Closing out the Saturday festivities was the carnival dance with support from the Glengarry Gold Band, with ample dancing into the early morning hour of Sunday.

Sunday activities began in the afternoon with a family magic show by magician Michael Bourada. The carnival closed out celebrations in the community with its pig roast supper.

Numerous prizes were also available to be won.
