A historic former rural church building is for sale and will likely be sold soon.
St. Paul’s Anglican Chapel on County Road 10 at Fenaghvale closed in 2023 and was deconsecrated on November 26 of that year. The little red brick church, whose beginnings traced back to 1874, closed to declining attendance.
Now, the owner of the building, the Incorporated Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa has it listed for sale. The asking price is $79,000. ReMax Delta Realty is overseeing the sale of the property.
The tiny former church is on a triangular lot of just under one half an acre. The interior includes original, natural woodwork on the walls, ceiling, doors, vestry, and communion rail.
The structure requires a new heating system, and there is no well or indoor plumbing.
Offers to purchase the former St. Paul’s Anglican Chapel at Fenaghvale will be presented to the realtor at 2 pm on Wednesday, January 29.
