Maurice said council will continue to work hard until the end of the term. The municipal election in Brownsburg-Chatham, and in all municipalities across Québec will take place on November 2, 2025.

In 2024, the value of new development in Brownsburg-Chatham was $80,092,595, an increase of $28,791,266 from 2023. Brownsburg-Chatham has been experiencing significant residential growth, but Maurice said a major reason for the significant increase in the value of new development during the past year is due to the new elementary school being constructed in St-Philippe.

An updated regulation on rural and recreational/resort land use was adopted by Brownsburg-Chatham council on Tuesday, January 14. The new regulation specifies which specific activities are permitted in rural and resort zones.

The various uses according to zones include campgrounds, cottages, hunting and fishing outfitters, all-terrain vehicle trails, spas and accommodations.
