An unusual exhibition by two Vankleek Hill artisans was officially underway this past weekend at a busy Saturday vernissage of works by weaver ian hepburn and glass blower Eric Davy. Called ‘Bent Light’, the show includes beautiful coloured glass works, glassware and interesting glass pendants by Davy. Although glass is a hard surface, the meandering flow of Davy’s colours adds a softness which melds perfectly with the unique colour combinations crafted in hepburn’s soft, loosely woven blankets. While unexpected, the works of the two artisans are a perfect match. While visiting the gallery, take in the works of two other local artists in the adjacent room. Part of the ‘Arber Project’, artists Lise Piché and Rosemary Harden are on display. Both shows continue at Arbor Gallery at 36 Home Avenue until December 15.
