Municipalities in Argenteuil will see more sales tax funding allocated to them from the Québec government in 2025.

On Friday, November 15, Argenteuil Member of the National Assembly Agnès Grondin announced that the 17 municipalities in the electoral district will benefit from a new formula being used to distribute a portion of the Québec sales tax (QST). In 2025, Argenteuil will receive a combined total of $5.1 million, an increase of $1.6 million or 46 per cent from 2024.

“By integrating a portion of the growth of the QST into their funding, the government recognizes municipalities as essential pillars of our territories and is once again committed to the vitality of the regions,” Grondin said.

Nine of the municipalities receiving QST funding are within the Municipalité régionale de comté (MRC) d’Argenteuil. In 2025, those municipalities will receive a combined total of $2,634,457, an increase of $875,715 or 66.7 per cent from 2024. The following table shows the amount each municipality received in 2024 and the amount each will receive in 2025.
