On Wednesday, November 6, Glengarry resident and “Gimli Glider” pilot Bob Pearson will be presenting his story as part of this year’s Speakers Series of the Glengarry Historical Society.
We will soar along with Bob as he recounts the final moments on July 29, 1983 as he glided a Boeing 767 safely to landing in Gimli, Manitoba. It had never been done before, and it’s never been done since.
Join the Glengarry Historical Society on Wednesday, November 6 at 7pm at the Michel Depratto Hall of the Glengarry Sports Palace. For non-members, tickets are $10 and for members, tickets are $5.
The next speaker of our series will be Mackie Robertson, who will be giving a presentation about the history of some of the more notable Glengarry Homes! This will be on Wednesday, December 4, at 7pm, at the Lancaster Legion.
