It was a beautiful Sunday morning for the grand opening of the new fire station in Saint-André-d’Argenteuil, located at 35 rue de la Gare.
Service d’Incendie Caserne 60 officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the fire team and government officials, including Mayor Stephen Matthews and Member of the National Assembly of Québec for Argenteuil, Agnès Grondin. Many community members of all ages were also in attendance for the exciting event.
Caserne 60 had its community safety equipment on display and allowed individuals to explore the majority of the fire station. Firefighters from the region were available for questions and to guide visitors through the modern fire station.

The opening event comes after a $4,489,000 investment in the construction of the new station with $3,260,400 of that amount financed by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MAMH). Caserne 60 received financial assistance as part of the larger Municipal Infrastructure Improvement and Construction Program.
The building features a beautiful mural that is proudly displayed on the main wall of the fire truck bay encouraging strength and unity among the team. It further encompasses the belief that they are not alone in their challenges and that they can always reach out to their brothers and sisters who share the same uniform.
