Police intervention recently prevented a collision on Autoroute 50 in Grenville-sur-la-Rouge.

At around 9:30 p.m. on September 1, Sûreté du Québec police officers from the Argenteuil MRC station were driving eastbound on Autoroute 50 in the area of kilometre 228, between chemin Kilmar and chemin Avoca, when they spotted an oncoming vehicle illegally overtaking on a curve with an incline. The police had to apply emergency braking to avoid a collision.

The vehicle was stopped at kilometre 223 between chemin Avoca and the Fassett exit, heading west. A 38-year-old woman from Kanata received a $1576 fine and four demerit points for committing an action likely to endanger the safety of persons or property.
