Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are looking for two individuals in connection with shoplifting incidents in Embrun.

On July 20, 2024, at 4:45 p.m., two persons of interest, a male, and a female, stole a Makita saw at a hardware store in Embrun. After entering the store and roaming around, the male exited while the female selected a box containing a Makita saw. She then exited the store, passing the point of sale, without making any attempt to pay for the saw, which is valued at approximately $1,000.

On July 26, 2024, at approximately 3:35 p.m., a female, matching the description of the female from the hardware store incident, entered a grocery store in Embrun, filled a beige bag with meat and left the store without paying. The Loss Prevention Officer at the store attempted to detain the female, but she started to kick and punch him. During the altercation, an unknown male intervened, and the female subsequently got away.

Russell County OPP are now reaching out to the community for any assistance that may lead to the identification of these individuals. They are believed to be involved in similar incidents in North Grenville and Pembroke and to drive a newer model black four door Chevrolet Malibu.

The first person of interest from the incident at the hardware store is described as a white male, slim build, clean shaven, black hair with fade, wearing a Toronto Blue Jays cap, black Converse shoes with white soles, black shorts and a grey shirt and a had a tattoo on the right hand, and left arm.

The second person of interest from the incident at the hardware store is described as a white female, medium build, blonde hair, wearing a black tank top, black pants, white shoes and had a tattoo on upper back and right forearm. During the incident at the grocery store, she had her hair up and was wearing a red crop top and black pants. The tattoo on the right forearm ending above the elbow was also identified.
