The Ontario government is providing more than $18 million in funding to the City of Clarence-Rockland and The Nation Municipality for water system improvements.
Glengarry-Prescott-Russell MPP Stéphane Sarrazin, accompanied by Clarence-Rockland Mayor Mario Zanth and La Nation Mayor Francis Brière, made the announcement in Clarence-Rockland on Wednesday, August 21.
The project will include the design and construction of a new watermain. It will begin at the Caron Street booster station and extend south along Bouvier Road, past Baseline Road.
The Clarence-Rockland water system takes water from the Ottawa River and then sends water through a watermain to Limoges via Cheney.
Both municipalities anticipate the project will have a major impact. By improving the water system, it will not only enhance the quality and reliability of services but also increase opportunities for growth and development, particularly in housing.
