The Township of Russell Public Library recently held a photo contest, inviting amateur photographers to showcase the beauty of the Russell Township area. From June 22 to July 28, 2024, participants could submit up to three of their best photographs.

Isabelle Dumas received the top prize for her captivating photograph titled “In the Moonlight.” Her winning photo will grace the new library cards. She also received a $125 prize.

Phil Soubliere secured second place with his photograph “Early Morning Moon over the Russell Water Tower,” earning a $50 prize. The third place went to Lisa Maidens for her photo “Library Oasis,” which came with a $25 prize.

Honorable mentions were given to Brigitte Burelle for her photo “Love is in the Air” and to Mark Hatherhall for his work “Moody Afternoon with a Great Blue Heron.”

A panel of judges, including professional photographer Jean-Paul Deveau, Russell Photo Club member Sylvie Brault, and the library’s CEO, France Séguin-Couture, evaluated the submissions.

In a recent press release, the library extended its gratitude to all participants for their impressive contributions to the contest.
