Part of one of Hawkesbury’s busiest streets will be closed from August 6 to November 10 for major reconstruction work.
Cameron Street is being completely rehabilitated between Lansdowne Street and Aberdeen Street. The affected area of Cameron Street will be closed to through traffic. A northbound detour route follows Aberdeen, Champlain, and Lansdowne streets. The southbound detour route follows Lansdowne, Bertha, and Aberdeen streets.
Cameron Street is usually a major connector route for traffic between Main Street and County Road 17.
The Town of Hawkesbury allocated $650,000 in the 2024 municipal budget for the Cameron Street rehabilitation project.
