Arbor Gallery is pleased to announce a new exhibition entitled “Two Crones – Susan Jephcott & Marion McGill Hodge – And Their Family”
This unique exhibition, which runs from August 1 to 25, 2024, includes works in a variety of mediums executed by 31 artists who are all related to each other.
Alongside Susan Jephcott and Marion McGill Hodge (the self-titled “Two Crones”), participating family members include Frieda Beauregard, Mary Jephcott Brett, Margaret Channon, R. Glenn, Joan Horrocks, Jason Hughes, Christine Hunt, Jesse Hunt, Julian Hunt, Sue King, Janet Jephcott, Lawrence Kimpton, Valerie Kimpton, Kayla Martinez, Emily McGill, and Katherine Jephcott Warren.
Also included are works by the following ancestor artists: Janet Neilson Channon, Paul Earle, James Jephcott, Kay Neilson Jephcott, Barbara Jephcott Kimpton, Lionel A. Kerwood, David McGill (I), David McGill (II), James McGill, Alisa Neilson McGill, James Neilson, Hugh Neilson, and Marion Walker Neilson.
Says Jephcott, “After my cousin Marion and I had our ‘Two Crones’ exhibition last year, we realized that in our two families we had many artists – professionals and talented amateurs. So why not do another exhibition and include whoever wanted to be part of it? We decided to include our common ancestors who were also artists, from which many of us inherited our talent. It would be a great way to honour them. This will be an interesting show with some of the work dating from the 1800s.”
Locals will have a chance to meet Jephcott, Hodge, and many of the contributing artists at the exhibition’s vernissage on Sunday, August 4, from 1 to 3pm. Light refreshments will be served.
Arbor Gallery is located at 36 Home Ave. in Vankleek Hill. For more information about this exhibition and other upcoming events, visit the Gallery’s website: www.arborgallery.org or contact [email protected].
