To support rural businesses in the Prescott-Russell region enhance their growth, the Prescott-Russell Community Economic Development Corporation (PRCEDC) has developed a multi-year strategy. This strategy is expected to provide a roadmap to strengthen the region’s economy and create new opportunities for entrepreneurs. It aims to attract and retain business investments, create jobs, and foster innovation and growth in key sectors such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy, biodiversity, manufacturing, advanced robotics, and more.
The strategy will be developed in collaboration with the United Counties of Prescott and Russell (UCPR), to support the advancement of businesses and organizations in the UCPR. It will also leverage contributions from regional partners. The PRCEDC is receiving more than $90,000, through the federal government’s Economic Development Initiative, to help analyze current economic challenges and limitations and help increase competitiveness and opportunities for growth in the region.
“The Société de développement communautaire de Prescott-Russell, an important organization in our community, is creating conditions for businesses and entrepreneurs to flourish. Together we are fostering better opportunities to enhance the economic competitiveness of our local communities, businesses and organizations,” said Glengarry-Prescott-Russell Member of Parliament Francis Drouin.
The aim of the initiative is to build a more inclusive economy for the region that works for all residents.
