Saturday, June 1 was a buying and selling extravaganza in Vankleek Hill. The annual Trash ‘n’ Treasure town-wide yard sale day brought in huge crowds of bargain hunters. Items were for sale outside many homes and at places set up along Main Street, beside The Windsor Tavern, and behind Scotiabank.

Many community groups, including the St. Jude’s School Council, churches, and Girl Guides were fundraising by selling food and drinks for hungry and thirsty visitors.

Yard sale permits were waived for the entire June 1 and 2 weekend in Champlain Township, leading to many yard sales not only in Vankleek Hill but also in L’Orignal and rural areas.
