Volunteers at a Hawkesbury church are helping make local homeless people a bit more comfortable.
Members of Église Évangélique Le Rocher have made mattress mats out of milk bags. They will be offered to homeless people by members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Hawkesbury Mayor Robert Lefebvre, who also serves as Chair of the Hawkesbury OPP Detachment Board suggested the idea of the mattress mats to Staff Sergeant Jocelyn Lessard who agreed to arrange the provision of the mats.
It takes 300 milk bags to make one mattress mat.
