The Hawkesbury Multicultural Festival is returning for a third edition this summer.

The 2024 festival takes place on June 28, 29 and 30 with more than 30 artists performing on two stages.

“We’re proud of last year’s turnout, with over 20,000 participants, and this year I’m hoping for even more. It’s thanks to the hard work and dedication of the administration that such an initiative can exist,” said Hawkesbury Mayor Robert Lefebvre.

On June 28, the festival kicks off with the “Multi-Star Night” theme, with more than five talented artists offering a fiery show that will have the crowd on its feet. One of the artists is part of the first of several contests taking place in the weeks leading up to the festival.

A not-to-be-missed show on June 29 has yet to be announced. Accompanying the secret headliner will be a First Nations artist named Pako. In addition, a dozen artists will have the chance to perform on the discovery stage between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. on June 29 and 30.

On June 30, the main stage will welcome more than 15 emerging artists for a “Multi-Jam Night” hosted by Valérie Cormier and Gabriel Torrado.

This year, a number of changes have been announced. These include a new visual identity and logo, highlighting the importance of cultural diversity. With this new identity comes a new website dedicated exclusively to the festival, which will be regularly updated to include artists and activities appearing at the event.

Once again, the festival is made possible through two official sponsors, Caisses Populaires Desjardins and the Communauté Francophone Accueillante.
