The Glengarry Celtic Music Hall of Fame has announced its 2024 inductees. The induction dinner and ceremony will take place on Friday, May 24 at the Bonnie Glen near Alexandria. There are two couples, two individuals, and one group being inducted in 2024.
Elizabeth and Brian Caddell are well known in the community for their many activities, musical contributions, and their promotion of the Glengarry Celtic culture.
Dave McCormick, who has played with numerous groups, and continues to be active, has brought hours of enjoyment to many. He has played a variety of instruments, was involved with the Gaelic Choir, and is an active member of the Seanacies. He often looked after the sound system for their events.
Martin and Olive Ferguson cover all the range of contributions as Olive was a teacher of music to many and together, they entertained many in their home, their store in Dunvegan, and in the community.
Monsignor Donald Bernard McDougald was a true supporter of Glengarry and the Celtic culture. He sang at many occasions throughout the county. In 2011 he released a CD “Bonnie Native Glen”. He was a founding member of the Friends of the Ruins of St. Raphaels.
The MacCulloch Dancers have brought hours of pleasure to many and have travelled many miles, both home and abroad to promote Celtic culture. The group was originally formed by Rae McCulloch, and today her daughters, Heather and Debbie, continue to teach Highland dancing and bring their entertainment to many.
