The Vankleek Hill Cougars and Gatineau-Hull Volant will kick off their National Capital Junior Hockey League final series this weekend, with the Cougars hosting Game 2 on Saturday, March 23, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Gatineau-Hull, which earned home-ice advantage for the finals by finishing first during the regular season, will host Game 1 on Friday, March 22, at Centre Slush Puppie in Gatineau. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Game 3 is also scheduled in Gatineau on Friday, March 29, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Vankleek Hill will host Game 4 on March 31, in a rare Sunday afternoon contest at the Vankleek Hill Arena, beginning at 3:30 p.m.

The Volant finished the regular season with a 30-2-1-1 record, but were tested in the semi-finals by the fourth place Cumberland Castors (18-13-2-1), who won three times and took the series to the full seven games. Vankleek Hill (20-14-0-0), third during the regular season, upset the second place Morrisburg Lions (21-12-1-0) in just five games in the semi-finals.
