Hawkesbury’s Fire Chief has been on medical leave since October 2023, and the fire department’s Captain has been appointed as interim chief.
On Monday, February 12, council adopted a bylaw appointing Captain Julien Boisvenue as Acting Fire Chief.
Fire Chief Normand Beauchamp is officially on leave until March.
Boisvenue originally joined the Hawkesbury Fire Department as a volunteer and became a full-time firefighter in 2015. He was promoted to Captain in 2021.
