Two people have been arrested following a seizure of a series of drugs in Lachute.
On February 1, MRC d’Argenteuil Sûreté du Québec officers carried out a search in connection with drug trafficking at a residence on Rue Gougeon in Lachute. Police had received information from the public that two individuals were trafficking drugs in the area.
The search led to the seizure of cocaine, crack, hashish, prescription drug tablets and methamphetamines, cigarettes not identified under the Tobacco Tax Act, as well as a prohibited weapon.
Two people, a 63-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman, were arrested. Both are residents of the area. They were released and are expected to appear in court at a later date in connection with drug trafficking, possession for the purpose of selling illicit cannabis and possession of a prohibited weapon.
