The Prescott County Plowing Match is set for September 10, 2022, after a two-year pause due to the pandemic. This year’s event will take place at Ferme Agriber Inc., 21 Chemin Caledonia, St-Isidore-de-Prescott.

The event is organized by the Prescott County Plowmen’s Association.

The start-time for the event is 9 a.m. and participants can win cash prizes for their skill at plowing.

Spectators are also welcome to watch the competition throughout the day.

The competition categories are as follows: Class 1: Professionals, Drag Plow or Mounted Plow, 12-inch, 2 furrows. Class 2 is the same as the first class, but requires three furrows. Class 3 is for new contestants.

Class 4 is the women’s class, while Class 5 is for Mounted Plow, 12 inches and over four furrows.  Class 6 is the antique tractor class; tractors must be 35 years old or more. Class 7 is the Antique Hydraulic class.

Class 8 is a favourite: the horses with walking plow. Class 9 is horses with a sulky plow and Class 10 is the Junior Plowing class, for participants under 21 years of age.

Class 11 is the Queen of the Furrows class.
