Yoga, jazz and contemporary art at Arbor Gallery

 

Piano jazz concert with Didier Chasteau

On Thursday, July 21, international blues/jazz pianist Didier Chasteau will present his own jazz and neo-impressionist compositions during an evening of the Arbor Gallery’s Intimate Concerts series, organized by Saken Music.

Set in the main hall of the gallery, where visitors will be able to appreciate current exhibition, The History of Things, a stunning exhibition of contemporary artwork by Ronald Headland. Improving the experience, guests will be able to enjoy the gallery’s new comfortable chairs, thanks in part to a Champlain Township grant.

New Vinyasa yoga classes 

Starting July 20, Josh Clendenin, certified yoga instructor will offer Vinyasa yoga classes at Arbor Gallery.

“One of the main focuses of yoga is devotion to your community, so I want to give back by offering a class that anyone can come to, no matter if they can afford it or not,” explains Clendenin, “the Pay-as-you-can formula lends itself perfectly to that purpose.”

Porchfest and vernissage attract tourists and local visitors

Porchfest opening act with 50 PROOF and Ronald Headland’s vernissage brought in a steady flow of exuberant visitors to the gallery on Saturday afternoon.

“The gallery is a great place to bring visitors and friends from out-of-town,” says Sylvie Bouchard, of the gallery. “We were happy to welcome Mayor Riopel and his friend from Holland, as well as many of our local friends who showed the place to their visitors.”

“We are proud to be one of the many facets of the great creative vibe that makes Vankleek Hill so different.”

Arbor Gallery Cultural Centre is located at 36 Home Avenue, at the heart of Vankleek Hill.
