Community events keep returning across the region and the Festival du Canard et de la Plume in St-Isidore is no exception. The festival, organized by the Club Optimiste de St-Isidore is back after a two-year absence on Friday, June 10, and Saturday, June 11. 

This is the first year the club has been totally responsible for organizing the usually annual event.  Festival President Stephanie Quesnel said they have been preparing for six months.

“It’s been two years, so we’re excited to see people come out and enjoy community life again,” Quesnel said.

On Friday, June 10, skip cooking at home that night and enjoy a meal from one of the food trucks, which will also be there all-day Saturday. The main event Friday evening is the comedy show at 8 p.m. 

Saturday, June 11 is the big day at the festival. The vendors market and free Kids Zone are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free Games to Go Big Rig, a mobile game arcade, and free horse rides are available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. At 11 a.m., a special show for children featuring Kattam takes place. The afternoon includes bingo with a $3,000 jackpot, and the rubber duck race starts at 4 p.m. On Saturday evening, the festival finishes with country music from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.  

Tickets for the Friday comedy show are $45. Rubber duck race tickets are $5 each, and there is a $10 cover charge for country music night. The Festival du Canard et de la Plume takes place at the St-Isidore Recreation Centre, located on rue de l’Arena in St-Isidore. Proceeds from the festival will go towards Club Optimiste youth programs in St-Isidore.
