The Vankleek Hill Horse and Buggy Parade will take place in Vankleek Hill, after a two-year switch to a virtual parade, which offered photos and video shared via Facebook.
The parade, organized by Excellent Events, is scheduled for Sunday, July 10. The Vankleek Hill fairgrounds will open to participants and their horses at 9 a.m. The parade will start at 1:15 p.m.
Organizers are waiting for permission for road closures following which, the parade route will be announced. If the necessary permissions are not obtained, the parade will take place within the fairgrounds.
There are tentative plans for an ecumenical church service under the Green Tent at the fairgrounds at 11 a.m. Participants will be invited to bring their own picnics and enjoy picnicking outside afterwards, while the horses are groomed and harnessed in preparation for the parade.
