One of Hawkesbury’s major industries has a new owner.

DART Aerospace, the industry leader in helicopter and aerospace mission-critical equipment, announced on May 25 that it has been acquired by TransDigm Group Inc. TransDigm, through its 48 wholly owned subsidiaries, is a leading global designer, manufacturer, and supplier of highly engineered aircraft components for use on nearly all commercial and military aircraft in service today.

“After three successful years under the ownership of Greenbriar Equity Group and First Aviation Services, we are now entering a new and exciting chapter in our history,” said DART President Alain Madore.

There will be no changes to DART’s Hawkesbury operations.

“TransDigm will bring a long-term perspective to our business strategy and ensure we maintain our strong growth trajectory. More importantly, I want to recognize the hard work of our talented employees and the amazing support of our shareholders during these turbulent times,” said Madore.

Under the new ownership, DART will operate with a high level of autonomy while maintaining its strong brand.

With its extensive engineering capabilities and manufacturing centers, DART provides industry-leading design, manufacturing, and market-certified solutions for the helicopter and aerospace industry. DART offers a comprehensive portfolio of mission equipment and related services, replacement parts, and tooling for civil and military operators. DART’s key products include aerial firefighting systems, flotation systems, landing gear, interior and exterior accessories, cargo expansion, cable cutters, environmental control systems, and ground support equipment. All of DART’s fast time-to-market solutions are delivered with superior customer support in over 120 countries worldwide.

TransDigm Group is based in Cleveland. Its major product offerings, substantially all of which are ultimately provided to end-users in the aerospace industry, include a wide range of mechanical and electronic components for aircraft.
