A total of $944,700 in capital grants are being contributed from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to municipalities in Prescott and Russell and North Glengarry in 2022. 

The Ontario Trillium Foundation is an agency of the Ontario government which provides grants for community projects to not-for-profit organizations and municipalities across the province. It is funded mostly by the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism, and Culture Industries. The capital grants are from the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Community Building Fund—Capital Stream. 

The Town of Hawkesbury received $265,500 to build new multi-purpose rinks at three municipal parks to provide year-round recreational use.  

In Casselman, the municipality has received $188,600 over 12 months for rink upgrades at the J.R Brisson Complex. 

A $490,600 grant has been given to the Township of North Glengarry over 12 months for the installation of a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit at the Osie F. Villeneuve Arena in Maxville.
