Hawkesbury is a long way from Broadway in New York, but the call is out for auditions, as Théâtre Cercle Gascon II prepares its first production since before the pandemic.

The Francophone theatre company is celebrating its 40th anniversary and is proud and excited to resume its activities. Their next play is a comedy by Bruno Marquis called J’ai mon voyage!. They are looking for two men and two women as well as a director. In addition to actors, there is also a need for technicians, decorators, make-up, reception, and more!

According to Théâtre Cercle Gascon II Publicity Director Zachary Nantel, two women and two men are needed for the title roles. He emphasized that no one needs to be a theatre expert to get involved.

“No experience is necessary,” Nantel assured.

There is also no cost to get involved with Théâtre Cercle Gascon II.

In J’ai mon voyage!, Nathalie has convinced her lazy spouse to go on vacation, but he takes the opportunity to invite his sister and brother-in-law to join them, which quickly ends her hope for a romantic getaway. As the two ill-matched couples prepare to leave on the trip, Nathalie, who has planned everything to go like clockwork is in shock when the others have more than one surprise in store for her!

Nantel said they are still determining where the play will be performed, once auditions and practices are complete.

Auditions for J’ai mon voyage! take place on Thursday, March 17, at 7 p.m. at the Assaly Arcade basement at 151 Main Street East in Hawkesbury. Please use the rear entrance.
